WELCOME to the Honor Flight Tri-State Website with information about our flights in 2012 and info on our last season's successes !

Our mission is simple -- To fly as many World War ll Veterans to their memorial in Washington DC, only dedicated to their service in 2004 -- 60 years after the war ended, as we can, as fast as we can. This mission is at no cost to the veteran and we are currently looking for vets to go on the trips from Cincinnati. We are now accepting applications from Korean Veterans and hope to start flying them soon.

Honor Flight Tri-State has just finished up the 2011 flying season. We took 365 veterans to their memorial on 5 charter flights. We hope to continue to fly charters as funds allow -- check the hotline ( 513 - 277-9626 ) for information. To apply on line -- see the veteran application section to the left. Also, accepting applications for Guardians ( guardians are interested citizens that would like to escort these vets to their memorial ) now for the upcoming 2012 flying season. Vets wishing to have a family member accompany them, ( anyone other than a spouse,), All guardians must be between the ages of 18-67 ) on the trip, must include the guardian application at the time of application by the veteran. Both forms are available on line with links to the left. The cost of the upcoming 2012 trips has not been determined yet , but info will be available soon. The cost does, however, includes everything -- commercial airfare, t-shirts, meals, bus tours etc and is tax deductible as a donation.

After we receive your application ( if you do not have a computer and would like an application sent to you -- please call the hotline number 513-277-9626 ) and we will put you on the waiting list. You will be called when your name comes to the top of the waiting list. All veterans will be screened to assess health issues and be asked to fill out an extensive medical form have a doctors note, for inclusion on an Honor Flight trip. This is a long day and we have to be sure the veteran can endure the this type of trip.

We are already booked for the first 2 flights of the 2012 season, but plan to host 5 trips this year. There will be seats available , on a first come, first served basis -- the date of your application, puts you in line.

Statistics show that we are losing World War ll veterans at an alarming rate.For many of the surviving veterans, a trip to Washington DC to see their memorial is not financially or physically possible without the aid that Honor Flight can provide. The trip is absolutely free to veterans. Family members can be guardians ( spouses do not qualify as guardians ) but they must pay the guardian fee to participate in the program. Fees to be determined soon. Honor Flight wants to fulfill the dreams of as many veterans as we can by providing free trips to veterans and to ease the load of their caregivers by providing willing and able volunteers to escort them on their day trip of a lifetime !

A flight includes : An Honor Flight t-shirt,, name badge souvenir, 3 meals, tour buses and airfare to Washington DC in a one Day Trip ! Veterans just arrive at the designated site and we take care of everything from there. Guardians will be asked to attend a Guardian meeting the week before the flight .
